HAND CRAFTS DEPARTMENT

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE HANDICRAFTS DEPARTMENT:

In line with Kütahya Dumlupınar University’s mission of an "innovative and participatory educational approach that serves society and science while respecting universal values," the Handicrafts Department has adopted the fundamental goal of preserving, sustaining, and developing traditional arts and crafts through a contemporary design perspective. Accordingly, the department aims to cultivate entrepreneurial, creative, and innovative individuals who possess a strong sense of cultural heritage and a high level of aesthetic sensibility.

The objective is to equip students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of tile art, traditional handicrafts, architectural decorative arts, and art conservation; to promote local values ​​at national and international levels; and to foster individuals who will contribute to the cultural industries.
